Publisher's Synopsis:

"The Secret Doctrine, the Synthesis of Science, Religion and Philosophy", published as two volumes in 1888, is Helena P. Blavatsky's magnum opus. The first volume is named Cosmogenesis, the second Anthropogenesis. Blavatsky's last word on Theosophy, covering cosmic, planetary and human evolution, as well as science, religion and mythology.

"Based on the mythical Stanzas of Dzyan, this 'channeled' work has led more spiritual searchers astray than any other. The forerunner of the New Age movement, HPB's magnum opus is riddled with gross misinformation, antisemitism and wild speculation. At the same time, her clairvoyant powers revealed many occult truths that led to the awakening of the West. The Theosophical Movement initiated the first widespread transmission of Eastern knowledge, opening the floodgates to a plethora of 'enlightened' Hindu gurus. Following disillusionment and scandal, the next wave of 'Spiritual Masters' wouldn't appear until the early '90s with the Tibetan diaspora.

Declaring the Aryan invaders of India the original root race, and the Hebrew Tribes as 'Johnny-come-lately' debasers of the original truth, Blavatsky single-handedly inspired Adolf Hitler to cleanse the Germanic/Nordic race of the 'inferior pollutants'. Much of Blavatsky's so-called 'channeling' was exactly opposite to the Truth, but just what the future Fuhrer needed to hear:

'The Semitic languages are the bastard descendents of the first phonetic corruptions of the eldest children of the early Sanskrit... The Semites, especially the Arabs, are later Aryans - degenerate in spirituality and perfected in materiality. To these belong all the Jews and the Arabs. The former are a tribe descended from the Tchandalas of India, the outcasts, many of them ex-Brahmins, who sought refuge in Chaldea, in Scinde and Aria (Iran), and were truly born from their father A-bram (No Brahmin) some 8,000 years B.C... The Aryan Hindu belongs to the oldest races now on earth; the Semite Hebrew to the latest. One is nearly one million years old; the other is a small sub-race some 8,000 years old and no more.'

The Theosophical Society seemed to live up to its creed, 'No religion higher than the truth', until Charles Leadbeater deified a fourteen-year-old Hindu as the reincarnation of Maitreya, the expected Buddha or 'World Teacher'. A German Theosophist Rudolf Steiner, whose epiphany of the 'Mystery of Golgotha' shook him to the roots, realized the Society had betrayed their own high standards. To preserve the true Ancient Wisdom and incorporate his own electrifying, esoteric Christianity, Steiner felt obligated to create an opposing mystery school, Anthroposophy.

Finally, the Chosen One himself (Krishnamurti) dissolved the Society's 'Order of the Star' in 1929, declaring that truth is a pathless land."       ~Mandala Books
